I'm looking to build a new rig and give mine to a friend. One of the things I want is front panel USB-C. I'd prefer to stay in my micro atx form factor but mid towers are cool with me too. What are my options as far as cases? my searching is yielding few results if any. :(

There are two types of type C (no pun intended)

Type C that runs at 3.0/3.1 gen 1 speeds (both are the same speed) these use the standard 3.0 motherboard header and will work with just about any motherboard made within the last 5-7 years

Type C that runs 3.1 gen 2 speeds. This uses a different connector, and will require motherboards that support it (usually high end ones)

Right now implementation of either sucks, especially on anything not an ATX form factor. @seon123's selection of the 301 is a solid choice. It's the 3.0/3.1 standard so your motherboard would be able to support it.

Not the easiest, but a big pro is that the case is no longer a deciding factor. Still have to have the right tools and skill not to make it look like crap.

i heard fractal josh talk about this somewhere, type c is currently in this weird void where there's not really a lot of devices using it, not really a lot of people care, not really a lot of mobo's support it, not really a lot of cases support it..

essentially, its a circle of people waiting for the next one in line to take action.

hence for the full 10Gbit experience options are EXTREMELY limited. if you're a handy person i'd suggest the case mod idea, if not just add the appropriate filters to your searches (and probably go more lenient on others to have options at all) and go from there.
