So this might be posted a lot on here but i'm looking for some help with finding a new Motherboard the one i have now only supports 3rd generation CPUs (My Motherboard) so you can see why i'm looking at a new one.

Would love any help in this and what its going to be used for well gaming. I'm also going to have to buy a new CPU too so if you want to add that to your Suggestion that would be alot of help.

Thanks for taking your time to help and have a nice day.

That Mobo is worth $150 easy. Get yourself a 6 core 12 thread Xeon x5680 for $70 and you won't be sorry. I can Max my GTX 1080 out at 1440p 144Hz. LGA1366 is no joke.

That does sound good but it does not seem the right choice to use old Hardware with a newer GPU (1060)

It's the right choice. As I said, my GTX 1080 runs at 100% while my CPU is only around 50%.

Here is my System running 1440p 144Hz. You tell me if the GPU looks handicapped by the rest of the system. You already have the most expensive part of an X58 system. If you don't want to run it PLEASE put it on the classifieds on this forum.

There are some might fine older CPUs that will still KICK ass. Most games nowadays are much more GPU dependent anyway.

If you want something just because its flashy/more expensive/newer then go do that.

First off no need to be rude i have no clue about any of this i'm trying to get info from people i was hoping would know more than me.

I can understand you saying that it works great and all that for you but i'm not sure about this so i will take all the info and just work it out from there.

Seriously.

If you don't want to take the risk there are cheaper lower clocked but still 6 core Xeons for $50.

This, a $32 X5650 will OC to 4Ghz, has 6 cores and 12 threads, and has Haswell-like IPC.
