Dead GTX 670, What Should I do With it?

I had a GTX ASUS 670 die on me 2 years ago and its been just sitting in a draw since then.. Ive tried contacting asus, but its out of warranty and I dont really want to pay 50$ for shipping plus a repair cost. I also tried taking it apart and replacing the thermal compound but no luck.

So yeah.. should I just dispose of it or what?

Take off the mosfet heatsink and check for potential cause of the death of the card? Like burnt marks, bulged caps etc.

I'm curious why it would it have been $50 to ship?

Unless you have the know how and a reflow station it's pretty difficult to do component level repair on boards like that. You could try baking it but that has been proven over and over that it is a gamble and even if it works may only buy you a bit of time before it stops working again.

So my suggestion would be to recycle it, or sell it as a non working parts only device.

East Coast Canada shipping to west coast California, is expensive. But yeah i feel bad throwing it out, but yeah might be able to give it away for parts.
