Toughts on this build (my first build ever):

Swap that ram out and either put one 8gb stick of ram or 2 8gb sticks of ram. Other than that, it looks all good.

Double the amount of RAM.

Why? That will drive up cost and wont help.

You can get W10 from kinguin for ~$30, maybe get a 2nd gen r5 chip. That PSU is overkill, 450 or 550 should enough, unless it cost more or the same.  Youre paying around $100 extra for that GPU, so unless youre ok with that, try getting a 970/980ti of the local market for better value.

Every part drives up the cost.

Why? Because it is 2018 and if you browse the internet a bit and watch some videos it fills up the ram quick and nicely and unless you want to close everything before starting up a game you should get 16 instead of 8.

that system will not have value in next year or two so he needs to build latest one.

In the rare occasion that happens, is it that hard to hit a red X then hit restore all tabs? Either way he can fix this buy just buying more RAM when it doesnt cost $100 for 8gb.

He has both SSD and HDD, replacing HDD with hybrid wouldn't make much sense I guess.

Why 750W PSU? It's not like he will be running SLI set up with it.
However, I would replace it with 500 W semi (or full) modular PCU.

Ryzen depends on RAM speed, right? Or was it just capacity?

sshd for quick search and they are cheap

750w psu gives more headroom for future overclocking

and yes ryzen eat ram if you have more capacity with speed that is better

No they're not cheaper, just get an HDD with SSD to make it much faster

Things are getting more efficient. You can easily survive of 450/550w for the next years

Nope, youre wrong. Ryzen doesn't eat anymore RAM, sure it needs faster speeds, but size wont help.

what do you mean by hard drives being immortal? Thats the point of SSDs, they last longer since no moving parts.

You can easily survive on 8gb of ram, 16gb if youre multitasking. SSHD have horrible value.

Ryzen only benefits off RAM speed, not size, and 2666 is a good sweet spot

High wattage is overrated, PC parts are just getting more efficient so you can easily do it with 450-550w

well no? My laptop serves me very well with 8 GB even when surfing...
and even on my desktop i rarely exceed the 8GB while gaming... when not 99.99% of the time

My laptop also has 8gigs and runs a linux distro which uses less ram than Windows and it gets filled up sometimes just by browsing. Always depends but I wouldn't like to game with 4 gigs of free RAM.

In the rare occasion that happens, is it that hard to hit a red X then hit restore all tabs? Either way he can fix this buy just buying more RAM when it doesnt cost $100 for 8gb.

A lot of people like to run games and listen to something/ watch something even on their second screen.

He can get by with 8 if he just games but he should get it in 1 stick and upgrade later.

What? Other way around

Actually no. SSDs have a limited lifespan and are nowhere near to immortal.

No they're not cheaper

Reinvest that money in RAM (16 GB 2666 or above). https://pcpartpicker.com/product/LhgPxr/gskill-memory-f43000c15d16gvrb

For the SSD get like an Samsung 860/ 850 EVO / Crucial MX500 for the same price as the one you have rn.

DO NOT SPEND $400 on a 1060. Pick up a 3GB 1060 for $250 or a used GPU around 300.

Last note: AMD is about to release new faster CPUs and Nvidia is releasing new GPUs. Prepare for some  degree of buyers remorse.

$15 more expensive, but made a few improvements. Changed the SATA SSD for a faster M.2 NVME one to take advantage of the M.2 slot on the board. Swapped the board out for a better priced one. Swapped the PSU out for a better one which also happened to be cheaper (650W cause that was the best deal). With the money saved upgraded the RAM to 2x8GB and much higher frequency 3200MHz.

If you want to keep costs down, switch the 2x8GB RAM out for 2x4GB 3200MHz or 3000Mhz and you will save around $60.

what do you mean by hard drives being immortal? Thats the point of SSDs, they last longer since no moving parts.

You can easily survive on 8gb of ram, 16gb if youre multitasking. SSHD have horrible value.

Ryzen only benefits off RAM speed, not size, and 2666 is a good sweet spot

High wattage is overrated, PC parts are just getting more efficient so you can easily do it with 450-550w

ssds have read and write times which limit there age

ram is for games most of the games require more than 8 gb

i agree on efficiency of psu .
