Best Cooler for R5 1600?

TraskJ

I'm swapping my Ryzen 5 1600 (non-X) into a new case, and I'd like to get a cooler that isn't the stock one. I'd like to spend less than $50, so probably an air cooler. I'm looking for something that cools better than the Hyper 212 Evo, maybe with more heat pipes. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Everything I know I learned from the internet. Also school.

Current Desktop:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 @3.65 ghz, Cryorig H7

MoBo: Asus Prime X470-Pro

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2060 Super OC

RAM: 2x8 gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @2666mhz

PSU: 650W EVGA SuperNova

Storage: 120gb SK Hynix SSD, 240gb SanDisk SSD Plus, 1 TB 2015 WD Blue

Case: Corsair Carbide 100R

Peripherals: Logitech G Pro keyboard, Razer DeathAdder Elite, Logitech G305, Logitech G600, 24" AOC FreeSync 1080p monitor x2

I had Scythe Fuma, and I switched to Liquid Cooling AIO, for aestethics.

Fuma is a beast in that price range, definitely a wise choice. comparable to noctua Nh-d15.

Save for longer and get a Noctua NH D15. It's the best air cooler you can buy, and better than many water coolers. Just make sure you check compatibility carefully...

I think thats overkill for a R5 1600(?) But you're right that the NH D15 is the best one - yet my vote goes to the Cryorig H5 as mentioned above because of pricing reasons

Just got my hands on a Noctua L12 for 40€ on eBay in basically new condition, I can't recommend this thing enough. It cools well even if you're only using the lower 92mm fan (should your case not have enough height clearance).

This is the H7 you're both referring to, correct?

Sorry, meant to ask: Is the H5 better than the H7? Or nah? It's more expensive on Amazon.

The H5 is the higher end and better cooler.

Cryorig is a little weird in the sense the higher number is actually lower end. H7 is Hyper 212 tier, but more compact and H5 is a solid performer if you can fit it.

Arctic Freezer 33 eSports Edition. Stupid name I know but I have my 1600 OC'd to 3.9 and it never goes above about 55C when rendering videos on 100% load. And it looks class IMO.

A high end air cooler is absolutely a waste on a Ryzen 5 1600, most of which can't overclock past about 3.9 Ghz and do that perfectly fine on much cheaper coolers. Something like a Gammaxx 400 will do a good job and be well within the budget. Or go for the H5, which is a solid enough choice and within your budget.

Another vote for the h7 here. The h5 is better but super tall. You could also pick up a 120mm AIO for that price but the h7 will probably outperform it.
