Stay with the i5, they even can not keep this cpu cool under syntethic load. Just check the review on notebookcheck.

This is my second thing, how cool can it be and battery consumption. Then i5 think :/ I won't benefit much from i7 i think. It will be easier to connect to powerfull pc to do something hard from to time rather than fucking on laptop all the time. And ill get some battery time

Hello everyone

I'm planning this summer to buy an laptop for an university. Ill be using it for word/ chrome/ light programing, and some photo editing. And here i have problem. I'm planning to buy i5 model with touchscreen 13 inch. Will i t be okey to connect to my workstation at home to do 3d modeling and heavier coding. I don't say ill use it whole time for connecting to PC at home. Will i5 be okey for that or should i invest in the i7 model?

I think that you'd be better off on the long run if you bought the i7 one. As you said, you plan to do heavy coding and 3D modeling, which isn't easy on your CPU with some exceptions, so the i7 model is definitely worth it in your case. It'll also prolongue the lifetime of the device (not battery-wise), because as new programs come out with more features they consume more, so the i7 model is definitely worth it unless you're on a tight budget :D

I said for heavy coding/ 3d modeling i wan't to stream from my work station at home. I'm basicly asking if it handle streaming. Or just go with i7 and dont f* around with streaming?

I actually don't have tight budget, but it is nice to save 200$. :)

Definitely i5. i5 and i7 ULVs don't have much performance difference due to TDP and cooling limitations.
