Well, 1060's go for like 300 now. Another 50 for ram, 100 cpu and there's your 450. Rest of the system is kinda meh but I'd say it's a good price. 620 is too much though.

I would not touch that!

1060 3gb will leave you wanting an upgrade in the near future. 300 watt psu leaves not much room for upgrades. If you want some decent responsiveness and speed, you'll want a SSD at the minimum for your OS to boot off of.

So... unless you're fine with upgrading half the PC in the future, I'd stray away.

Edit:

I see you already purchased it... it will work but it would have been better at the black friday price. If you purchased it recently, can you return it?

8GB of RAM for $50? It's hard to find these days, unless you buy it used.

I think the 1060 is more than enough. As he mentioned, not everyone is looking for high-end stuff, and considering the current price of GPU's it's definitely worth it, especially compared to a 1050Ti he would have got had he bought the parts separately.

300W is tight indeed, but it's okay for a 1060.

but what I dont understand is how they RAISED the price to 750$. even i know that is way too expensive.

It's probably GPU pricing. Even if OEMs can get somewhat "shielded" prices for the components, it still doesn't make sense to sell a system at a price that allows enough room for buying it, selling the GPU to miners, then selling the GPU-less box and turn a profit in the process.

yeah especially with a budget PSU i don't like running it that close to 100%. likely to be loud, wear it out, and inefficient

It's not the wattage of the PSU we're all worried about, it's the kind of PSU. That unit is what a lot of people will (semi) jokingly call a "fire hazard".

Because of the Bronze certification?

No, the Corsair CX550M is Bronze certified and one of the best budget units. Lower wattage is usually a sign of overall lower quality, and prebuilts are known for not having good units.
