i3 8350K vs i7 3770K

Pretty basic question. 

 

1. Which is more powerful in overall use? 

2. Which is better for video editing

 

I want to ask which is better for gaming but the i3 wins hands down

 

PS: My question is only about the performance and not  "with the i3, you can upgrade down the line"

 

So yeah, they pretty much have the same price but with the i3 8350K, you'd spend more with the upgrades on mobo and ram and stuff

i3 will have better ram and newer parts associated with it, but it's an i3. I hate to say it, but it's probably better for the job. EDIT: if you spend $20 more, get an i5 8400, then i'd say you could video edit decently, better than the i3

I'd say i3 is the better choice. It is slower than the i7 in video editing by a small margin, but that wont make up for the larger difference in gaming performance.
