Thread messages formatting problem

WkdPaul

Just found out that when thread messages have different backgrounds available and while using the day theme, the text color will always be white when in a quote or spoiler (even if using the "auto color") ;

Capture.PNG.feebb14a2e0b9802e3b0e847b7e427e0.PNG

Obviously not a problem with the night theme ;

Capture2.PNG.a25ffc274903093cdb4923f3a68f5e8b.PNG

The workaround is to use the "no background" ;

I posted it in the Test post section, but seeing as staff have access to the whole section, @colonel_mortis won't have any problems viewing it!

Hello there,

Just a regular pleb...here

I was going to post a new thread about missing text (the OP's opening one) in the Night Theme 2.1 on this post...

...but it seems you already have one thread running on it....................................pleb, pleb, pleb...away!

-snip-

this is something different.

your issue is just that the OP didn't remove formatting or forced the font color and therefore is showing black text on black background. Happens all the time

That particular issue is (usually) caused by people copying and pasting the post content from another website using Microsoft Edge, which retains the text colour even if it's black. This means that the colour is explicitly set to black rather than adapting to the theme colour.

We're aware of the issue, but a proper fix isn't particularly easy to implement unfortunately.

How about a redirect to chrome.google.com if the forums detect edge being used? xD

Is there a bug bounty, I heard just last week, that Google and LastPass each pay $$$ for those who find exploits in their "features" not that I am an expert, just a pleb (oh, did I mention that before)?

Google's bug bounty program pays out...

A forum bug bounty program? I'm afraid not, though if you did manage to discover a severe security bug and the forum software developers provided compensation for doing so then I'm sure something would be worked out. That isn't unprecedented for IPS (the forum software devs), but none of the security issues that I have reported in the last couple of years have resulted in any money.

All bug bounties only apply to security bugs though, not regular bugs like this.

Those bounties are for security bugs, i.e. unlocking a system by inputting a blank password multiple times. I don't think it would apply here.
