Need help upgrading my (unfortunate) pre-built HP Pavilion

Hello everyone, I'm in need of some advice regarding my GPU upgrade. I would like to know the best type of card I can use with my mini-computer

It's a pre-built HP with modest specs, and it's actually not a bad gaming PC, but I need it ready for VR (HTC Vive to be specific). Here's all the information...

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/hp-pavilion-desktop-pc-intel-i7-7700-1tb-hdd-12gb-ram-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050/11557159.aspx

I've taken some pictures of the insides for everyone to look at... would I be able to fit a 1070 or 1080 ITX card with this small amount of space? There is very little room left as you can see lol

Thanks in advance for the assistance!

The link to the pre-built is dead, so I can't find out much about clearance. I suggest you get a tape measure and see how much clearance you have (as you need about 17cm to fit the mini-ITX card).

It's not too clear on the pictures but you might be able to relocate your HDD to increase the space a bit. Or you could also try light modding if you're desperate, but if you're willing to go with a 1070/1080 you should be able to spend a few bucks on a case. Half-decent ones are to be had for under $30.

Also make sure your power supply can handle a better card. Again, couldn't make out anything substantial from the pictures.

Yeah the power supply would definitely need an upgrade... is it plausible to move all of that hardware into a new case?

The link works fine for me.

The motherboard in that HP computer is proprietary. The power connections are not the same as what you would have on a standard ATX or MATX motherboard... So you will have trouble with upgrading the PSU. You may also have trouble plugging in the power button to a normal case.

Corsair 900D | MSI MPower Max Z87 AC | i7-4790K @ 4.7Ghz | 1080 Ti SLI | 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400
XSPC Raystorm | EK-FC Nickel GPU block/backplate | 2x Alphacool UT60 480mm & XT45 240mm | 11x Linus Edition NF-F12
Schiit Modi/Magni 2 Uber | 5" KRK Rokit G3 | KRK 10S2 | Acer Predator X34 | Dell S2716DG

The power supply definitely will need an upgrade considering the components of this PC. I saw a comment where it said he cut off a part of the case in order to fit in a new PSU, however I wouldn't recommend upgrading this any further considering the limitations of the 180 watt PSU. You could try moving everything else into a bigger case to avoid any struggles.

To be honest, this PC does seem a little bit overpriced but considering the rising of PC gaming and the inflation of Video Cards, it's a decent price for a prebuil.

Intel i3-2120 Dual Core 3.3GHZ - Zotac Geforce GT 730 Zone Edition 2GB GDDR3 Memory - Samsumg 1333 MHz 3 x 2 6GB RAM - 465 GB Hitachi 7.2K RPM SATA HDD - Stock Dell 250W PSU - (upgrading the GPU to a 1050 and 2 more gigs of RAM ;))

Well I asked for some phyiscal help and managed to order  a 1070 ITX card! (Gigabyte) =)
I'm going to add 450-600w PSU and if there's money left... rip out the optical drive for an SSD

Who needs an optical drive these days... right?

The build is definitely a little strange, but I think it's okay for upgrading a prebuilt... and now I have the gtx 1050 for my old Dell XPS!
Thanks for helping guys!
