Hello :3 while i was cleaning i saw that my sons computer monitor was pretty dirty , so i cleaned it with some window glass cleaners and some conveniently placed tissues on my sons desk . is this a good way to clean a monitor? or are there any other better methods of cleaning it?

It's not a good idea to use glass cleaners on monitors or displays in general. Many will have a coating on the display and the chemicals often found in glass cleaner can damage the coating and potentially damage the components that make up the display itself.

If it's just done once, as long as it's cleaned off with a proper LCD/electronic display cleaner, then it should be fine. If you leave it sitting on it or use it multiple times, it can cause the coating to develop a yellow tint and/or fog, as well as causing other surface materials to break down, potentially severely damaging the display's components if it's used multiple times.

You should use a purpose made LCD/display cleaner with a microfiber towel. If it's just dust, then you don't even need the cleaner, just a light dust with the microfiber towel will do, applying basically no pressure, as little bits of dirt on the surface of the display can scratch it.
