That would be dumb, it would completely defeat the purpose of Floatplane.

The point of floatplane is to be a paid benefit

 

No ads, a separate discussion forum, discord channel, (and now an alpha site), and all content a week before release on youtube

 

You pay, to get more.

Currently majoring in computer networking. That's about it yeah. Not much goes on in my life.

There already is trial. It's called YouTube. Content is same, mostly. Like the VR setup thingy. It is simultaneous release.

That would cause some overload issues and a waste of bandwidth to serve the same videos as youtube.

Ok, I thought it could be cool just to give people a taste of how much better floatplane looked. I'm looking to get into doing some low end video streaming from my (fairly terrible) home internet. What kinds of speeds do you need?

5mbs up is minimum for good quality. 2mbs if you really need to push it. Uploads...

Honestly, if $3 a month is too much for you, then just stick to YouTube. Might as well get a job if you want special benefits, that's how most people do it ;)

Still won't help. Different wages in different countries. You'd think $3 is cheap but you'd have to consider other costs.
