Little help with my build please!

RockoCL

Hi guys, can you help me with this PC parts, please?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9CDK8Y

I intend to overclock 5.0 ghz but I do not want any CLC on the board so that's why I chose the noctua, but it's so ugly lol.

Also btw, the PSU that the store have in stock it's the EVGA 750 BQ, not the B2 but i didn't saw that in pc part picker.

Feel free to recommend any changes.

Thanks!

I took your list, swapped out for an 8700k and z370 mobo, swapped for a different cooler that looks nicer and has similar performance.

I also upped you to a 1080ti for $100 less. It isn't the prettiest card, but imo at $1000 you should get the best, miners be damned.

Edit: You can take that $100 savings and up the PSU a bit!

Wow didn't know that it was soo bad that PSU. Well, searching in my local stores (Chile) I saw an apparently better one: Seasonic SSR-750FX FOCUS 750W

If I go with the 8700K, what's a recomended MB for that CPU?

  • 1 month later...

Hey guys, I just wanted to give you an update of my now concluded project. I listened  your opinions, and this is the final setup I went with:

-CPU: Intel Core i7 8700K

-CPU Cooler: Dark Rock Pro 3 (it's Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge but beautiful)

-MOBO: MSI Z370 Krait Gaming

-RAM: 8x2 gb 3000 mhz Corsair Vengance

-GPU: MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X (Bought in Chile. Converting CLP to USD it was 873.16 USD at that moment and the 1080 ti was around 1261.6 USD, kinda pricy so I steped down to the 1080)

-PSU: Seasonic FOCUS Plus Gold 750W (it was great that was fully modular for cable mgmt)

-CASE: Riotoro CR500 (Funny thing here is that there was as low as almost 5 to 10 mm of clearence between the CPU cooler and the side pannel)

-SSD: Crucial MX500 250 Gb

-HDD: Toshiba P300 2 Tb

Had to wait for the DRP3 to arrive because I had to bought it from Ebay US and then shipped to Chile, but the end results are marvelous. Because I don't have any 4k display I play on 1080p, but everything I throw at it just run buttery smooth on Ultra so pretty happy with the results, and of course the experience of building it on my own. I remember the last rig i build from scratch was an AMD Athlon 64 so we are talking like 2006 maybe.

Again thanks guys for the help, maybe in a couple of days I'll send a couple of pics of it to a showroom post or something, the black and red theme is beautifull!
