Processor: which is better for gaming?

Looking at creating a new build dedicated only for gaming. Was looking at the I7 8700k or the i7 7800x. Which one is better for gaming and why?

8700K is the absolute best for gaming, hands down. This is due to better architecture and higher clock speeds than the 7800X.

7800x is only faster when it comes to AVX related work

8700K is the fastest there has ever been. For gaming nothing will beat it, no matter the price.
