Zotac GTX 1060 Mini + Raijintek Morpheus II aftermarket GPU cooler

A while ago I bought the Zotac GTX 1060 Mini because of its tiny form factor my my ITX build. For a bunch of reasons I switched to a Fractal Design Node 804 case, which offered way more space. In a follow-up step I tried to reduce the noise output of this really loud card to a minimum.

In the end I chose the Raijintek Morpheus II aftermarket GPU cooler for its aesthetics, simple because I personally don't really like the Arctic Cooling designs. In the end the process to switch the coolers was surprisingly easy, there wasn't even a warranty void sticker or anything similar for me to remove. The end results looks solid and performs way better than expected. With 21°C ambient temperature I reduced my idle temps from 43°C to 25°C and under load from 80°C to 45°C. The Noctua fans are not powered from the graphics card itself. They receive the PWM signal from it, but the power comes over molex through a simple adapter. I realized afterwards, that the card's bios does not allow the fan to go below a 40% load, which results in the Noctua NA-F12 to be still audible even with the low noise adapters. So very soon, I will install Noctua's fan control NA-FC1 to address this "issue" once and for all.

I just wanted to share my experiences and hope that somebody might be inspired by it.

Greetings from Bavaria!
