So one thing I have wondered about a lot over the past couple of years is if I could use lego to build a custom computer tower. I feel like it would allow for more customization and make it more modular. Would their be any complications with doing this? Has anyone else attempted this?

You'd need a lot of lego. Maybe even a few layers to build strong "walls"

Could make some really nice colour schemes too.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. Other than drilling holes in the lego at the appropriate points to create mounting holes for your components, can't think of anything.

Depends on how you go about doing it.

@NexGenCN: I built a testbench-style rig out of Lego for my old PC. I used a bunch of wide and long flat bits to create a shelf to hold my mainboard, and secured that with some pegs and jumper plates to allow  for appropriate spacing. I built pillars out of 2x4 bricks to support it, stuck all that on a large baseplate, and stored my PSU and HDD under the main shelf.

You might choose to go about it a bit differently, but that was the easiest way I found to do it.

You can use technic pieces for holes, get creative, I promise if you do it right you wont need to do any drilling or lego modding whatsoever. Getting enough legos though if you don't already have them will cost close to $200 (I have also looked into doing this)

Unless you happen to have a crap ton of lego you don't otherwise use it'll end up being a lot more expensive than a normal case. It's a cool idea though and I remember someone on the forums doing it, unfortunately not the use name

That's an F in the profile pic
