With a 8700k normally a pcie storage uses the 24 pcie lanes from the chipset, so you will still have full use of the pcie 16x link to your gpu.

 

Riad 5/6 use striping to split up data and then make a parity so you can lose some of those stripes.

 

 

What are you trying to do? Normally raid isn't a good option, and it seems like you should get a single bigger faster drive.
