Why does it seem slow still

Guiltyspark117

Alright I’ve been running this build since July and I feel as though it should be running a whole lot better. I’m running a Asus 970 pro gaming aura bios 0901 with a amd Fx 8370 at 4.0 ghz, 32 gb ddr3 f3-2133c10-8gsr with a rx580 with a Corsair h80i got water cooler on cpu. Simply put I was trying to play like dying light in 4k it was laggy but 1080 runs just ok. My task manager says I’m running my ram at 1333 MHz and cpuz says it’s at 866.8mhz any guidance would greatly be appreciated.

866 * 2 = 1333

It is the correct speed, it's called DDR because of Double Data Rate.

Some programs show the double and some show the single.

If im reading this correct... you were trying 4k gaming on a Rx 580 ?

I believe there is your problem.

The Rx 580 was made for 1080p Gaming or maybe light 1440p gaming not for 4k... the GPU is not even close to be capable to run games in 4k at 60fps...

i would try 4k with a 1080 or a 1080ti.

RX 580 won't do 4K, but it will do 1080p hahaha

4K is 2x times the pixels to render just going by horizonal

Unfortunately, this is right.

It takes a top notch video card to run anything at 4K with decent frame rates.

Maybe just lower your resolution until the prices come down for the pascal cards. We're not far off from the next generation of cards launching so I'd wait until then, wait for the miners to switch to the new cards and then buy a 1080 for wicked cheap being careful not to buy something that's been driven until the wheels fall off.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 - 'Create Windows 10 installation media' Download tool now bit on that page

You could just download 10 on to a USB drive and install it from there. It will be much quicker than installing from a DVD, and even more so if you have an SSD.

Just create a windows installer on a USB stick with the media creation tool from Microsoft:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/15088/windows-create-installation-media

It's your product key that matters for activating windows so write that down just in case, but as long as you aren't changing motherboards, you're good. You don't lose your copy of windows just because you reinstall it. Even if you change motherboards, as long as it's a retail copy and not one that came with the machine, there are still ways to transfer it.

I don't remember the exact size of the installer, but I always just use a 2gb one if I remember correctly.

  • A blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space or blank DVD (and DVD burner) if you want to create media. We recommend using a blank USB or blank DVD, because any content on it will be deleted.
