Took me a minute to find them. I used to use crappy in-ears all the time until my headphone jack was taken from me.

They're not crappy and I'm very proud of them. #cheapinearpride

Might just be you. I can see em from my office PC and I've never used LTT forums here, so it's not cached or anything.

I got a pair of 64Audio U2s that I enjoy when flying or when running events.  At home I tend to use speakers.

Got to say, I'm normally not a fan of wood or wood effect designs, but those are gorgeous.

Also, Schiit Modi and Magni 2 stack and Sennheiser Momentum 2 + ModMic, a pair of Brainwavz HM5s and a pair of Audio Technica MSR7s.

Oops, meant to reply. Yeah I wouldn't have liked them as much if they were super shinny, the matte finish really makes it for me.

I've been a headphone geek for a while...

Electrical things:

  • Schiit Vali (tube amp)
  • Schiit Magni 2 Uber (not-tube amp)
  • Schiit Modi 2 Uber (DAC, plugged into computer)
  • Headroom Portable Mini DAC/Amp (not pictured because it's at work)

Headphones:

  • Sony MDR-7506, set #2 actually. First one lasted from 6th grade through to 2nd year post-grad school, of pretty much daily use and living in a backpack. Amazing durability and good sound. I use these the most by far.
  • Beyerdynamic DT990 600 ohm. These are pretty awesome.
  • Etymotic HF5s. Not a huge fan, bought as a cheap replacement for the Shures, due to their noise blocking dB rating. Weak bass though, like where-did-it-go? levels of bass.
  • Shure SE530s. These are great but after using for a few years, the plastic housings got brittle and have started disintegrating. For the last few years I've only used these for airplane and racecar noise-blocking audio, since they're essentially earplugs with good sound.

I'm saving for a set of Focals next. I had a listen a couple years ago and they blew my mind....just haven't acquired the currency for them yet.

Got it. I hate coiled cables personally so I would replace it if I ever got a set.

Reminds me of the Bakelite rotary telephones back in the old country (Fort Langley, BC, Canada [pshh]).

Yeah exactly, and they are heavy and they fall off my desk when I unplug them to plug another set in.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me why Sennheiser likes packaging (what it feels like) metres of cable? I know it’s a carryover from breadbox-sized amps & tuners. Ah well... when I get the gonads, I can pull out a soldering gun and shorten them....

What 10ft cables? Sennheiser likes them, so do a lot of other companies.

Christ on a cracker! Six cans.  Damn fine.  As I understand it, you used a Mayflower modding kit for one of your pairs, right?  May I ask what you’re using to power these beasties?

Pssssh. Over-rated. ... ... ... ... Nope, can’t do it. HAIL SCHIIT. HAIL HAIL. I love my little silver boxes. I jumped on the Modi Multibit bandwagon (no clue if it’s superior to older technology). I see you replaced your Vali’s glass tube tube with a solid state doohickey. Can you detect differences between glass & Lisst?
