Overclocking CPU for LGA 1155

Hello!

I currently own i5 3570, but i want to upgrade it to something overclockable like i5 3570k or i7 2600k. I would trade someone my current CPU ( and add like 20$ ) and get the i7 2600k, but i read that it doesn't support PCle 3 ( supports 2.1 and below ) and it can't run DX11. Please tell me which one to buy.

P.S i might buy a deliding kit so i would like to overclock them to 4.5 ghz at max.

Well a directx isn't a cpu software, it's for graphics cards so saying the cpu can't run dx11 is irrelevant (unless you meant the igpu).  I wouldn't invest more money into a deliding kit, but the 2600k is worth it over an i5 3570.

Try using the PSU Tier List!

How to reset the bios/clear the cmos

My current rig:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x

Ram: 1x16gb DDR4, 2x8gb DDR4

Storage: 1tb nvme ssd

GPU: gtx 3080

Monitor: 23.8" Dell S2417DG 144hz g-sync 1440p + 27" Acer S271HL 60 Hz 1080p

Keyboard: ducky one I | I SF

Mouse: gpro wireless | glorious model o2 wireless

Sound : beyerdynamic 1990 pro | Monoprice liquid spark (amp) + topping d10 (dac)

Completely irrelevant to the cpu, it's a motherboard thing. The cpu supports it, you just need a motherboard with pcie 3.0

Thanks! You really saved me.

Can you tell me if delidding is worth it?

And which kit would you suggest?

For a dead platform, it's not really worth it spending $50 on a kit, but if you want the performance, this one seems to have good reviews: https://www.amazon.com/Rockit-88-Delid-Relid-1150/dp/B06WVYL61Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1517837415&sr=8-1&keywords=delid+kit

All Ivy Bridge CPUs support PCIe 3.0. All Sandy Bridge CPUs don't need a delid. Up to you what's more important to save money on ;)

2.0 vs. 3.0 makes no difference on hardware this old.

Only the 3570K would require a delid.

If you go for the 2600K don't bother with an average OC. 4.8GHz - 5.0GHz is easy. I could daily my 2700K at 5.1GHz. Huge step up from a 3570K at 4.6GHz.
