This will be a good gauge to determine how many people own a completely factory stock Dell machine from how many people select norton and mcafee.

The amount of people buying McAfee from PC World because they say "it's gud" when they sell the PC is actually frightening lol

Since Windows Defender comes with Windows 10, I technically use it. But really my anti-virus software is this new program called, "Me." It's really cool because it doesn't slow down my computer or take up any resources in my desktop to use it. The only thing it requires is my brain.

You're usually the slowest part. The computer spends a significant amount of time just waiting for you.

I use Bitdefender Total Security for my PC because a friend gave it to me for free and Kaspersky Internet Security for my parents PC. Both have very good detection rates but lately I'm considering Kaspersky again because of the quirks of Bitdefender like false positives. I don't know why so many people pick Malwarebytes when in fact, their detection is quite flaky at most people might as well just stick to Windows Defender.

Just out of interest, @Tosa, do you have the premium version of Malwarebytes? Do you find it's as good at blocking threats than a traditional antivirus?

I used Windows Defender since Windows likes to bitch about it if it's disabled. My antivirus of choice is Myself, which has the lowest false positive rate of any antivirus. I use Malwarebytes if I ever have to kill a virus on someone else's computer, which happens a lot.

Also, don't forget about ESET.

I do like the website blocking thing on Malwarebytes. Blocks popup ads like a charm so no background audio :D

Nope, I got the free version, and I don't exactly go around downloading malware to challenge my anti malware software, so I don't know. But come to think of it, I guess I have some IObit real-time protection thingy. I also have a license for IObit Malware Fighter, but I haven't bothered installing it, though I believe it comes with malwarebytes "under the hood" along with it's own malware detection stuff.

I guess I use Windows Defender because it's on my computer automatically, but I don't install any antivirus software. After well over a decade of having zero malware issues, I'm pretty sure the best defense against malware problems is just not being an idiot.

Current Build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D

GPU: RTX 3080 Ti FE

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Tuf X570 Plus Wifi

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X53

PSU: EVGA G6 Supernova 850

Case: NZXT S340 Elite

Current Laptop:

Model: Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HS

GPU: RTX 3060

RAM: 16GB @3200 MHz

Old PC:

CPU: Intel i7 8700K @4.9 GHz/1.315v

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Just installed and activated IObit Malware fighter, and it has Bitdefender built in. Not Malwarebytes.image.png.956c92c403569b777dab80c2dbab2b9c.png
