Funky system with AMD Vega 64, Intel Knight's Landing (Xeon 7200+), 64 GB RAM

Hi All,

I am trying to build a system with Intel Xeon 7200 series (Knight's Landing) which is equipped with High Bandwidth MCDRAM and AMD Vega 64 card which is equipped with High Bandwidth Memory (HBM2) and 64 GB of RAM.

We would also need a motherboard which supports SGX such that we can add an SGX compatible CPU later. And also relevant power supply.
As I understand, the Knight's Landing (KNL) processor can boot an OS on its own, so we won't need a separate OS for now.
I read in AnandTech that Intel has discontinued the Knight's Landing Series but there are some refurbished ones available in PriceBlaze:

http://www.priceblaze.com/7220a.html?ref=gshp&gclid=CjwKCAiA15vTBRAHEiwA7Snfc60dBvteGMpF76ZtEV0VrVgJWsycRZV3SpzGmSmuZHkdPKnqDS3yfBoCEWoQAvD_BwE

Is it a reliable site to buy the product? Has anyone other recommendations for getting a KNL?

Can you please provide any input on building this system, such as which motherboard to use (provided we need two PCIe slots for KNL and Vega), what power supply to use, will there be any incompatibility issues, and am I right in saying that we won't need any host processor for this system?

Thanks,

Anirban.

All 6th generation Intel processors support SGX. Before you purchase kindly refer to Intel ARK website (http://ark.intel.com/) or the list of processors that supports SGX

No, this is for research. Running workloads that need HBM.
