Currently I have this monitor. ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ITORITU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) And I am really wanting to upgrade to 1440p. And to get rid of this TN panel. I mainly play a lot of games where a higher resolution can really help. Such as pub g, arma and escape from tarkov. I have never looked at a 1440p monitor in person. I am just wondering if it is a noticeable difference. This is the monitor I am looking to upgrade to. https://www.amazon.com/PG279Q-2560x1440-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B017EVR2VM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1516947290&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+rog+swift+pg279q Thanks for the advice!

not true, PUBG barely uses GPU but it is a huge VRAM hog... 6.1GB at 1440p

All Pascal cards capable of going SLI has 8GB VRAM or more. As for older cards... forget 1440p 144fps target. This game's SLI scaling is BS though, being the 'much better' bunch.

I play at 144Hz 1440p with 1080ti. PUBG utilizes about 70% of the GPU at best.

Please just buy a free-sync display

You either want 1440p 144hz IPS free-sync or maybe even 4k 60hz IPS which is what I prefer.

the 27S has a basic stand, pixio has a display for $399 as well if it's ever in stock

Pubg doesn’t have an sli profile, Nvidia may have added it in an update but the game doesn’t support it.

As far as 1440p being an upgrade, that depends. For gaming it offers nothing but fov, depending how you natively play.

Play much better on 1080 myself. Kind of a waste getting a 1440 monitor for gaming along with 10 series cards. But it’s better to try first hand.

I just upgraded to an XB241YU monitor and it's working great, I don't get exactly 144 FPS to fully utilize the high refresh rate but I sit on average around ~120

To me going from 60hz 1080p to a 144hz 1440p monitor was definitely worth it, you just need to make sure your card can support it well as I'm using a 1070 Ti and game with OC Mode on (Asus GPU Tweak)
