What’s going on with Tech Companies?

DrDerp

So tech companies in the past couple of hours have dropped in stock price by several dollars each. I was checking on how bitcoin was doing, and not only did it fall a little in the past couple of hours (which is normal, because it’s bitcoin and that market is volitale) but Nvidia, Intel, AMD, heck even Texas Instruments have all dropped in price in the past couple of hours. Any reason why?

I hate to be that guy to bring up Spectre/Meltdown again but could this be related to the performance of already installed chips getting gimped on enterprise solutions?

It’s not just chip manufacturers either though. I put some graphs in of different companies.

Texas Instruments  fail because of their earning didnt meet market expectations. And that is somewhat related to US tax reformation.

Maybe the market have lower expectations now for other tech companies such as the ones you mentioned above to suffer from the same reason. Or you know, it's just a bad day lol.

It seems that most of the NASDAQ companies have fallen, so it might not just be tech.

I got that however, if for instance companies like Amazon, Google etc are using intel chips in their servers and so on and the performance is being effected negatively to impact their services it wouldn't be good for their company.  Thats all I was getting at however, it might be stretching it.

This graph is the last 24 hours and its only dropping a few bucks. Blaming this on intel performance is realllllllllllllllllllly stretching it.
