I honestly don't understand the appeal of a mechanical keyboard, how can people type on a keyboard with so much travel. I would rather type on a chiclet style laptop keyboard, or a membrane keyboard with a really short throw, I can type a lot faster on those. The keyboard that I find easiest and most comfortable to type on is the older style macbook keyboards, it's a shame that I don't like Apple products, although if I could install Mac OS on my laptop I definitely would. Not all mechanical keyboards are cherry mx blue..... My mx speed has such short travel that I spend over 1 or 2 weeks tyyppping likkkeee tthhhiisss. Posted August 15, 2020 I hate mechanical keyboard because I tried many mech and keep coming back to Membrane or Lenovo iBM Accutype/True Strike Reason 1 : Except for white switches, every switch feels too stiff to press. Reason 2: to register a key, you need a 90degree +/- 20degree angle(yes, because I have been using many mech for years), except white, which feels nice Reason 3 : just louder than any reinforced Membrane switch Reason 4: Accutype/ True strike on my Legion 7i is just way more natural 1. Its a Hybrid switch, which goes like mechanical but less stiff, but lands softly and doesnt make clanky sound and also its travel is 1.4mm and design is like Chiclet.. Which I love Reason 5: Only good for gaming, in general doesnt make sense(I do game, that's why I own mech) But see, all switch ain't bad But when I have to code, I switch to either TVS gold pro mechanical switch(dammmmmmmm, the only keyboard made for typing in mechanical switch) or TVs champ membrane I mean, TVS nailed it on typing For gaming Corsair K95 as the half actuation register helps a lot in gaming On laptop, Lenovo Keyboard. You can throw MSI steel series keyboard out of window or Aourus 15g mech switch Only keyboard which comes close enough is Alienware M17 (legend design one, not old models)
