I would love to listen to the WAN-Show on Spotify. If we are enough people with this request, we may be able to make a deal with LMG, so one of us can upload it there.

i use podcasts on my phone. it is the only thing i use it for and would much rather have it with all my music on spotify

Bumping this topic because I don't want to make a new one, but I would really like this. I am using Spotify now and don't really have acces to iTunes on my S8. Not really willing to have like 3 apps for music and what not.

I doubt it will be coming on Spotify anytime soon. You may as well use the SoundCloud version if they still do that or maybe a dedicated podcast app which it may be on.

Doesn't Spotify pay creators too? Just might be another nice lil income for LMG at the same time

Can people manually upload to Spotify yet? Last I checked, users couldn't upload their own content.

You can't upload manually. You have to use a music distribution service such as DistroKid (https://distrokid.com/) which for a yearly fee allows you to upload unlimited content to Spotify, Apple Music and Google Play Music.

 

Edit: DistroKid does not allow upload of podcasts St this time, my bad, Spotify has a list of distributors that do: https://artists.spotify.com/faq/popular#how-do-i-get-a-podcast-on-spotify

Agreed, I'd wish the WAN Show had more of an audio presence and to be honest, the WAN show was what got me into LinusTechTips and related channels in the first place. I think it is really a crucial part of LMG.

I think it's a per invite basis or you should convince Spotify that your podcast is worthy in their platform afaik.

We use a third party service that we pay for to upload, should be good starting next week. Next step will be working on getting Linus or Luke to upload the show right after it airs, so that should cut down on time and get it up in a more timely manner for you guys to listen to.
