Vega 56 WTF

Go to solution Solved by LinkGaming,

Well it looks like Solder.

I wouldn't Power the system up anymore with this Card.

Go and look if you can get a Refund or a Repair from the Place you bought it from its most likely a manufacturing Error.

Hi guys ,what you think about this ...?

i was going to put the card into the computer and something like this droped from the fan of my card ,, ok i sticked it in the card ,was normaly running ,but after i started furmark the card went 85c and started to drop on performance,my other vega 56 had 66c temperature..no perf drop.

what you think i should do ?

Yeah ,thats like the logic option, but they will refund it and theres no telling when another Vega will come.. everywhere its sold out and they dont know if or when it changes.. the other option would be to change the Stock cooler, cause i think the problem is only there.. but it looks like solder to me too,so i dont know, cause when i open it and it wont work after i Change the whole cooler im fc... and whitout warranty..

The problem with lose solder floating around is the chance of electrical short. Your card would be covered under manufacturers warranty but not anything else that might get damaged as a result.

I would not run that card. < notice the emphasised full stop

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

if it's solder, issue an RMA.

Who cares when Vega will be on stock again. If your card dropped a piece of solder material, it's not the time to think what will happen if there's no stock available.

You have already spent all your luck since it didn't produce any short and did not fail catastroficaly yet.

It's up to you, i'd send it back.
