Will Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1050ti work with DDR4 RAM?

System memory has nothing to do with your GPU working or not.

Current Build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D

GPU: RTX 3080 Ti FE

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Tuf X570 Plus Wifi

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X53

PSU: EVGA G6 Supernova 850

Case: NZXT S340 Elite

 

Current Laptop:

Model: Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HS

GPU: RTX 3060

RAM: 16GB @3200 MHz

 

Old PC:

CPU: Intel i7 8700K @4.9 GHz/1.315v

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-A

The video card doesn't care about what memory you have in your computer. It could be even DDR2, if you can still find a motherboard with pci-e slot and support for DDR2 memories.

 

The listing is wrong anyway, the person that filled that information probably left the default (first) entry in the box, which was DDR3. The person probably has to select the memory type from a drop down list / combo box and DDR3 is simply the first entry, pre-selected.

Where it says DDR3 it refers to the type of memory that's ON the video card, and the entry is incorrect... the video comes with much faster GDDR5 memory.

 

Video cards can be equipped with these kinds of memories (from slowest to fastest or best) : DDR3 <  GDDR5 < GDDR5x  < HBM

RAM support depends on your motherboard, and DDR3 is not compatible with DDR4 so you cant upgrade to it without a mobo (likely CPU) swap.

 

Your graphics card will work. It's actually more common for graphics cards and CPUs to use different types of memory than using the same type.

I think the listing is correct. It's OP who dont know VRAM is not the same as RAM.
