Is my build balanced for gaming?

I got all the part for my first PC build this Christmas and I wanted to know if it is balanced or not.

 

Specs:

CPU: Intel - Core i5-7600K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor

Motherboard: MSI - Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

GPU: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition Video Card

Welcome to the forums :)

 

The only thing that could imbalance that build is if you don't buy a high refresh or high resolution monitor. A 144Hz 1080p will give you super smooth gameplay at max settings with a 1070 Ti.

 

And do use high performance CPU cooling (big air or 240mm+ liquid), so you can overclock the i5 well.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

I feel like the 8600K is a better option.

I have a pretty high quality monitor already, and I didn't originally intend on over clocking so I bought a Cooler Master - Hyper 212 LED 66.3 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler. Do you think this is good enough to do a small overclock

I meant by cost. The 8600K is the better chip with two more cores and more likelihood for 5.0GHz.

Not sure it'll do a small OC but should work stock

I would always go for six cores if I can afford the package (8600k + z370).

 

But at the moment, high speed four cores is all you need to play games.
