Thoughts about this rig for 1440p60 at atleast medium settings? Also does AMD have a cheaper GPU to offer?

I'm running a 1060 6GB for 1440p 144hz so a 1080 will slay. Honestly, you probably only need a 1060 for medium at 1440p.

I honestly wouldn't risk it though, a 1070 just to be safe.

May I ask what games you are running? I'm currently on an RX 470 which I guess shouldn't be too far off the 1060 (even tho it is 4GB so I'm not sure) and 60hz is enough for me

Not the most demanding games in the world and not at the highest settings. I play mostly AA and indie titles at medium to low and generally crank out ~130-190 FPS. But if you check out some benchmarks for the 1060 in todays most demanding titles at 1440p it pushes about ~60-80 FPS in most of them. But that's ultra settings:

So I'm fairly confident that it will at least push 100-120 FPS at medium and if not the 1060 definitely will at low.
