8C16T on Ryzen 1600 ?

Hi ive just upgraded my rig from fx6300 to ryzen 1600 but with 8c16t 3.4Ghz. my question is how do i know wether this is legit ?(other than checking it on cpu-z/task manager/HWmonitor ?)

and also what timing should i use to oc my ram Kingston Hyperx Fury 8GB (1x8gb) 2666mhz to 3000mhz ?

If CPUZ say so, it's legit. You arent the first one to get one of these CPUs.

yes i do noticed that im not the only one. im just wanted to know if we have any other way to confirm it. im just cant believe i have this kind of luck after all the bad luck i had for past 6 months

Check CPU-Z as mentioned. 

 

I would also try out Prime 95 and seeing if you can load all 16 threads with tasks that complete around the same time.

hi, thank you. i really forgot about prime 95. ive tested it an hour ago and nothing went wrong. so it is confirm that this extra 2 core is legit.

Yeah, it's quite likely that you have an 8C/16T chip.

 

I've heard from somewhere that AMD Ryzen yields are really amazingly good (Potentially 80+ %) so somebody down the line might have forgotten to disable 2 cores and 4 threads or whatever.

Either you have 8C/16T or a Ryzen 1600.


Because Ryzen 1600 only has 6C/12T...

No ryzen 1600 and 1600x have 8c16t on certain batches that amd forgot to disable :)

ive checked my cpu and its really is ryze 1600 with 8C/16T. my cinebench score is 1582 which is great. i hope this cpu last atleast 5 years

Yes lets celebrate this event by looking at some pics!

It's really the first time , usually people got lucky by unlocking hidden cores.
