stream pc

ok so im trying to build a streaming pc for a friend who just wants to be able to stream content from a console and wants to do it for as cheap as possible and i am not sure how intensive streaming is or if you can even build a streaming pc under $500. I have no preferences in amd or intel i simply want a stable machine that will consistently stream content for as cheap as possible thank you all in advance for your advice.

1. Budget & Location - U.S. as far under $500 as possible

2. Aim - to stream content from any console

3. Monitors- no new monitors needed

4. Peripherals- none needed

5. Why are you upgrading- a friend asked me if i could help him put together a cheap streaming pc

Hi there,

Here's something to start with : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/G3g2gL

I would recommend Ryzen for a decent encoding setting, 4 cores 8 threads should be more than enough to encode. 8gigs of ram will do, i think 4 might be enough if it's only to encode on obs. 120gigs ssd for windows + obs, you can take a classic hhd 7200rpm to lower the cost, but for few bucks i strongly recommend the ssd! You will need a graphic card because there's no integrated gpu on Ryzen so any gpu will do the job, only needed to have a display.

As for peripherals I have no idea on the low end what's good or not so you'll chose ! xD

what about this? It is a bit overbudget tho

Might do but no optimal, if the guy wants to stream something decent I strongly recommend the 1400 with 4 cores and 8 threads. If he only has 300 bucks he might want to stream directly from the ps4
