external GPU stup for Titan V?

chantecleer

So I ordered a Titan V for deep learning purposes.. I have a macbook air and Asus ROG 702 which itself contains a GeForce 1070.

What is the best enclosure that would potentially work for both machines? And is there anything extra-ordinary needed to take care of the Titan V's needs? I am very new to the graphics card game :P

All advice is appreciated :D

No laptop dock on the market will run the Titan V at max.  Titan V saturates PCIe x3 and TB3 uses x2 or x4 at most

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

what a terrible waste of money to put that card in a GPU enclosure. if you're going to be spending that kind of money, get a dedicated desktop for it and keep your laptop for your other uses

Buying a 3K USD graphics card when you don't even have a high end desktop (getting it later is a moot point).

Shouldn't you be spending 3K USD towards a high end desktop first and get Titan V later?

I mean, no offence, but if you can't afford to buy a high end desktop right now with Titan V, you really shouldn't buy that card,
