theres always something right around the corner to wait for. if you really feel like you cant live without an upgrade, do it now. if you can wait then wait for launch. if you are planning on buying the top of the line card dont buy the 1180, wait for the 1180 ti

I don't see the 1080 or 1080 Ti being useless for a much longer time than the 780 Ti and 980 Ti have been.

Edit: I would buy the 1080 or the 1070 Ti, if you're going for upper-end.

Still run a 780 and no problems until I upgrade to 4K

If there's a card out there now that will play the games you want to play in the resolution and with the settings you want to play them at, and the price is right, buy now. Waiting just gets you the privilege of paying the early adopter tax on cards that are likely going to be favored by miners.

It's going to be the 20XX series not the 11XX series.

Where'd you see that?

These posts never make any sense. Nvidia Generally releases a brand new series of flagship cards every other year, and then fills in the gaps in the inbetween years. In this way there are always brand new TOTL cards to buy from them.
