Hyper 212 EVO without fans?

So I decided to turn my old PC into a HTPC and im trying to keep it quiet as possible. The cpu is a pentium g3258 and im not going to overclock or play games just going to use it for websurfing. Is it possible to use it without putting a fan on my 212 evo heatsink?

I don't think 1 fan will kill you, how loud could it possibly be

Any air movement is better than none.  If you need it to be super quiet, add a fan speed resistor in line to slow them down even more.

Problem with running no fans on a heatsink is if the component generates enough heat it'll just saturate heatsink and temperatures will continue to climb until you reach tjmax.

My hyper 212 evo fan is dead silent. Comes with the foam pads which eliminate noise pretty well.

Not really, TBH for the size the 212 Evo isn't that effective a heatsink since you can get coolers designed for use with 92mm fans, which do a better job due to their newer designs.

Depends on airflow. I was able to run my G3258 semi-passive on one with it set to somewhere around 4.5GHz/1.3v (I think). With a bit of airflow I bet you could undervolt it a bit and run stock clocks passively pretty well.

Just replace the the fan with a Be quiet fan and set it on the lowest RPM. Virtually no noise to be heard.

I;ve run an I5 3350P gaming with only my case fans. [I didint yet knwo my CPU fan died I later replaced it.] But dependign on the chip it can do it. But hoenstly the 120MM fans are not that loud.

Due to them being only 1800RPM on the 212 Evo (I've got the 2200RPM model from a failed Seidon 120V, and the motor+airflow gets loud).
