Recently jumped on the bandwagon with those miner people.

Using an old Fractal Arc Midi r2 and currently have one Sapphire pulse itx RX 570 but I plan on getting another.

Using x2 120mm intake fans at 5v using the case's included fan controller.

With the side panel on gpu gets to high 60s. With it off it levels out at 53 degrees 42% fan speed.

Does it make more sense to run the case with the side panel off or keep it on and use more/faster fans?

Balancing the noise emitted is also a factor.

I would personally keep the panel on, if only to keep dust out of the cards.

Why run the fans at 100%? GPU runs at 53 degrees at 42% fan...

I mentioned noise is a factor so running fans that high isn't an option.

Good grief, you don't need the fans at 100%.  I think the most I go is a custom fan curve that tops at 75% with an undervolt profile.

Depending on your temps, you should be fine with panels on the case.  Best way to find out is to check your temps with panels off and panels on while mining.

If you do plan to run panels off, word of advice, get in the habit to dust a bit more often.

On all my mining cards, i set to 100%, because on Pascal (I know this is a discussion about AMD) down-clocking begins at 40C and it doesn't matter where you have you power target set. once it hits 40C, Sol/s degrades.
