SLI 1070 is slower than a 1080Ti. Go for a 1080Ti.

i would hold on to the 1070 until next gen cards release.

Also, just so you know, VR does not support SLI as of now.

So, if you crave for an upgrade right now get a 1080ti...but i would wait personally.

lol...

I love when people think this.

1070 SLI > 1080ti even when scaling is roughly 80%. . .

Built a 1080ti system, and a 1070 sli system. My 1070 sli system kills the 1080ti in nearly everything. Your mileage may very, but I built and run both.

IF scaling is 80%

Even then, it's barely faster than a 1080Ti

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1080_Ti/

Fact of the matter is not all games have 80% scaling. Many games have between 50% to 70% scaling nowadays, even at 4k.

Sure, but what does and doesn't can let users decide. For me, the games I play scale fine with SLI support and beat out a 1080ti. . .

For the OP - I'd hold off till the next gen of graphics and go ahead and pick up a used 1070 ;-) SLI and enjoy.

then why are many people reporting games(not many of them though) on geforce forums and reddit

and heres this

believe its still up to the developer/engine

https://developer.nvidia.com/vrworks/graphics/vrsli

yeah i checked and ''VR fun house'' by nvidia, trials on tatoine which is a demo of a star wars and serious sam (to some extend) seem to still be the only titles that support SLI and VR.

I have 2 x 1080ti, and I usually don't even enable SLi. My second card runs as PhysX/Flex card more often than not.

SLi is just broken as hell now that the devs don't care for the 1% market anymore, nor does nVIDIA.

Very often, disabling SLi gives me smoother performance (do not be fooled by that FPS number) and less issues playing games.

That's the exact opposite of my experience. But hey, mileage varies right?
