@CPotter @LinusTech REALLY bad spam situation on this YouTube video as of now. People pretending to be Linus posting fake links / scams in droves. Just FYI.

Edit: Appears to be dying down / getting buried, or action was taken. Either way, good.

Obviously normally I wouldn't worry about mentioning "YouTube Comments are bad", or general violations for that matter.

But  I feel like your company name and trust is one of your biggest assets, so I figured it's worth a heads up when it's being used in a potentially damaging way.

/ End Edit

Just curious if anyone at LTT knows where the ECCO name for the dolphin/video game comes from?

The short(ish) story: John C. Lilly, inventor of the sensory deprivation tank, had done research involving LSD and dolphins. He thought that, on high enough doses, humans could communicate with dolphins. Later in his career, he moved from LSD to ketamine, and focused more on his own mind than inter-species communication. Through his experiences on high doses of injected ketamine in a sensory-deprivation tank (it almost killed him once; not from overdose, but he somehow rolled face-down in a float-tank) he began to interact with benevolent 'beings,' sent to Earth to help certain people lead humanity towards a greater purpose, enlightenment, or consciousness, if you will. He considered these beings part of the, Earth Coincidence Control Office, aka ECCO, and they would intervene in certain situations; not necessarily actually changing events, but altering subtle things as to appear as coincidence. I said he almost died in a float-tank? During that episode, a good friend of his had a random 'bad feeling' and decided to call Lilly. Lilly's wife answered the phone, told the friend he was in the tank, but Lilly's friend insisted it was extremely important and to get the phone to Lilly immediately. It was at that point that Lilly's wife found him face-down in the tank, she performed CPR and kept him alive. After that experience, he only further believed there was this ECCO group watching out for him, and anyone else that was helping humanity towards this 'higher consciousness.'

That video game is not just some dev's poor spelling, or an attempt to make it trademark-able; it's a nod to Lilly and the work he did. I never played the game, at least I don't really remember playing it, but I do remember seeing the box at game stores all the time though. Apparently you control a dolphin on a pretty psychedelic adventure? Sorry for the long post, and the quasi-tinfoil hat-ishness, but 1) I haven't seen that game in yearrrrrsssss, 2) I was just talking to my friend yesterday about Lilly, ECCO, and the SSE (the Solid State Entity, it is the 'evil' to the 'good' of ECCO), and C) that can't merely be a coincidence :P
