Delidding i7 8700k

So im building a new pc and when the parts get here I might delid the cpu to get lower temps.

Is it worth it?

Is it really risky if im careful?

Thermal or liquid metal paste?

 

I have a fx 6300 in my current pc, if i wanted to practice could i use that and delid that?

Yes, allows more OC headroom as well as MUCH lower temps.

Yes, anything can go wrong. But low chance if you're using the right tools.
