YouTube (and possibly other web-browser based) videos are desyncing audio massively.

inQntrol

Hey,

For the past week, I've been facing an annoying issue with YouTube videos desyncing audio. After 3 or so minutes I start to notice that the audio desyncs from the video pretty badly and it gradually keeps getting worse, like after the 3 minute mark the audio would be half a second behind the video. I checked my "stats for nerds" and my connection is perfectly fine and I'm not dropping any frames. I turned off hardware acceleration in google chrome but it still occured, so I tried using firefox instead and the same results happened.

I don't notice this issue in anything else other than a web browser. Netflix on windows 10 is fine, popcorn time is fine too, it's just web browser videos (mostly youtube, I haven't noticed it anywhere else but I don't want to null out the possibility it is happening elsewhere.)

Any suggestions?

Try a different browser.

Upgraded Nvidia drivers recently? Same thing has happened to me since I did.

sorry for late reply - i had about a month or two ago but the desyncing issue happened a bit after my driver updates, i'd say two weeks and in the two weeks that i had updated my drivers to the time i noticed the desync i didnt see any issue with my videos. ill try updating my drivers again to see if it fixes it.

updating Nvidia drivers worked for about a day it seems but then it just went straight back to desyncing?
