1060 6GB worth it?

I'm kind of in a hurry here, but is the 1060 6GB worth it? Best Buy currently has them for $259 US, and I'm wondering if it would be worth getting one. I am upgrading from a GeForce 9500 GT, so a potato is an upgrade.

hehehe, today is the day of tagging @WhisperingKnickers (sorry, you're the only homie I know with a 1060 6GB). he can tell you the particulars, but yes, should be a dope card for any games at 1080p.

Not for $259. Give it a few days.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

I currently have an i5-2400, but will be upgrading to Coffee Lake in a while (probably 8400) so I want something decent now.

I have one that I use for 1440p. It’s a great card and uses very little power. I would however suggest a 580/480 8gb for Freesync and slightly better overall performance

I bought a 1060 a few months ago. Great great card to mostly max anything at 1080p. Although I agree with the others, $260 USD is a little high. I got mine for like $270 CAD.

it should be pretty good. Though I got a lot of stutter running my i5 2400 with my 980 Ti, so it may bottleneck a bit. But it should be a pretty good setup.

After you upgrade the CPU you will feel the GPU being weak :D

He could always pick up an i7 2600K, they're pretty affordable.

Sadly they aren’t compatible with my system, or else I’d get one.

I’m not worried out bottlenecks. I usually use a Core 2 Duo with integrated graphics so it’ll still be one hell of an upgrade, even if it is somewhat “weak”.
