Smart bulbs

ToXIc Dev

I am looking for a smart bulb (a colour one)

I am currently thinking of getting this tp-link one.

I don't really want to have a hub and am looking for something cheaper than Philips hue.

I was just wondering what smart bulbs you guys have used yourself and can recommend?

I personally prefer the HUE bulbs myself. I've got a good dozen or so but you need a hub for them.

The TP-Link is nice since it doesn't need a hub to work.

Can you control the light's color with software, so it goes red when you die ingame, and flashes to whatever music your playing? would be cool, but does it listen to you and send info to google?

There's a bunch of cheap Chinese ones that work pretty well (most of them do need the hue bridge though). All I really know of major companies is Lifx and philips hue.

The only reason I'm here is that I have homework that I don't want to do

It took me half an hour to find where to change my signature :(

most light's have an Api (Hue, Xiaomi, Lifx ((don't now about tp-link but probably))
and the data usage of both the Hue and Xiaomi lights is super low, so they are not sending audio back. they also don't have microphone's

To add to this the TP-Link does seem to have an API
