VEGA 64 with a EVGA 600B?

Question.

 

Hey so I just ordered a VEGA 64 (air cooled) and I'm wondering if I'm going to have to upgrade my EVGA 600B PSU..?

 

I have an older system,  i7 2600 3.4,  16gb ddr3, two 140mm fans, 2 120mm fans (one is part of the corsair h60 cpu cooler).  An SSD, two HDDs, and an optical drive.

I strongly advise you to get a new PSU, Vega 64 is the most inefficient power sucking card of 2017, you should grab something like an EVGA G3 650w or Seasonic Focus Gold 650w.

 

I know you'll think that 50w is nothing but this isn't about wattage, for such a video card you can NOT save on PSU, you'll be putting the entire computer at risk if you do so, you need the best energy feeding you can get for this card.

Yes, upgrade the PSU. The B1 is very mediocre, even as a budget unit, and the Vega 64 has a 400W power limit, afaik.

550-650W is reasonable. Make sure to pick one that has 16 gauge wiring and/or multiple PCIe chains. As in for each connector on the GPU side has its own connector on the PSU. Lots of tier 1 and 2 units to pick from.

I don't plan on grabbing a Vega card as I already have a 1070, but for future reference I assume my EVGA 650 G2 Supernova is fine for power-hungry cards like this. I was kinda curious about it.

Thank you guys!  Any specific future proof psu's you recommend?  also, can I use two PSU's until I get a new one, I'm itching to fire up this VEGA 64.
