Dark Rock Pro 3

Bruno_A

Hey guys, I'm soon getting an i7 2600K and want to get a better cooler to overclock it over 4.5GHz and was wondering if a Dark Rock Pro 3 would do the trick at cooling it down with decent temps. my budget is up to £50. The Dark Rock Pro 3 is currently on sale on Amazon for £50 (£41 for me as I live in the channel islands, VAT free) with free shipping (prime). If I get this cooler, I would need to run my PC with the side panel off as my CPU cooler clearance is only 160mm. If you have any suggestions for a better cooler that would fit in my case for about the same price or up to £50, let me know.

Many thanks, Bruno.

I hear the mounting on the dark rock pro 3 is quite irritating.  there's https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/xBmxFT/phanteks-cpu-cooler-phtc14sbk which should perform within a couple ºC of the dark rock, or https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/93Crxr/cryorig-cpu-cooler-h7  which may be a little warmer but still should suffice

The DRP3 would be plenty of cooling but there are cheaper options that don't require your side panel to be removed.

A Pure Rock, H7, or Kotetsu would be cheaper and be enough for 4.5ghz
