Ok, so i've got a Playstation account thats registered as the main acc on my PS4 and my brother bought games through my account without telling me (total 6 games) and now he wants my accounts password? Is that fair? hes jeopardizing my account through his stupidity and stubbornness. I was actually going to sell MY ps4 which he convinced my parents not to let me (i got it for getting good grades before graduating) and then i turned to selling my account which he is again stopping me from doing so.

what are your thoughts? should i give him the password, or is he just being a dick.

An argument could be made that denying your brother access to games that he bought with his own money is larceny.

Whether or not he's at fault is not really a concern.

Lastly, I would also point out that selling your PSN account (and there games linked to it) is against the PSN ToS.

A counter argument is unauthorized purchases being made in the first place.

I haven't had a console since the PS2, but surely a separate PSN account could be made like Steam where you have your own libraries.

Not really a counter argument.

Even if you've come to posses someone's property via that persons illegitimate act, depriving that person from their property is still considered larceny.

For example, if I was to kick my ball into your yard, then you keeping the ball is considered larceny.

Well, you can, but I just can't vouch for the legality of it in regards to the larceny angle. But as I said, it's against the PSN ToS, so you will be breaching your contract with PSN.

What Sony will do about that I don't know.

Honestly, it's probably all really theoretical. I highly doubt your brother is going to file a police report on you just because you sell your PSN account.

But what your home life will turn into I can't say.

Well if you were going to sell your PS4, i'm guessing you no longer want it?

If that is the case, why not just change all the personal info and let him have it?

i need the money for a gaming pc that i want to build.

Have you tried seeing if you can refund the games? if you are able to, you remove any possible counter argument he can make, If you can't you could compromise and let him share the gaming computer if you are able to build it. If that fails, tell him that it's yours and he has no say
