AMD A10-9700

So, I have recently created a built that includes an AMD A10-9700. I use the stock cooler, but I have applied my own thermal compound (After cleaning off the factory applied stuff obviously). And, oddly enough, the APU idles at around 60c and when in the BIOS, it climbs up to 67-68 and stabilizes itself there. Any good reasoning behind this? Also, this was a problem before I switched out of the factory compound.

I might end up moving to a cooler master heatsink & fan for the $40 it is.

Not on an A10 you wouldn't :P

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

I believe those work on Intel based sockets only?

Correct, but the M9a works for AMD

What are you using to monitor temps when in Windows?

The old APU's get their temp read wrong in nearly every program, even when in Bios too.

I found amd overdrive was the only one that worked, though it tells you the temperature weirdly, it shows you how far you are from max temperature, rather than just the current temperature.
