Posted November 4, 2017 So, I have recently created a built that includes an AMD A10-9700. I use the stock cooler, but I have applied my own thermal compound (After cleaning off the factory applied stuff obviously). And, oddly enough, the APU idles at around 60c and when in the BIOS, it climbs up to 67-68 and stabilizes itself there. Any good reasoning behind this? Posted November 4, 2017 What are you using to monitor temps when in Windows? The old APU's get their temp read wrong in nearly every program, even when in Bios too. I found amd overdrive was the only one that worked, though it tells you the temperature weirdly, it shows you how far you are from max temperature, rather than just the current temperature.
