1440 and still happy

Bought my 1440p monitor about a year ago. I was amazed at the difference from 1080. Today, i booted my "spare" PC with a 1080 monitor, ugh, looked horrible!

So will the jump to 4K yeild the same surprise and amazement? (only if 4K goes 120Hz or higher...will this happen soon?)

There are 4k 144hz monitors coming, they're just delayed. ETA is some time in 2018. They have HDR though, which should help give a nicer image even if the resolution step up isn't a slap in the face. Or so they claim.

Don't expect cheap though. IIRC pricing was almost $2,000. You'd also need a beast of a video card to make use of it.

Some one who jump from 1080p to 4k/UHD it was incredible, but then bought a 144hz 1440p screen and thought that was sweet (still had the 1080p beside the 4k display at that time). I would think so. I can still tell the difference between both of my monitors. At 27" 1440p you can kind of see the pixels, at 28" 4k it is smooth as butter.

If the jump from a 1080p TV to a 4K TV is just as sweet on a smaller screen, then I'd imagine it'd be a nice jump. Though Windows scaling would be meh.
