OnePlus won't ditch the Jack port (for now)

This isn't dragging tech forward, it's going backwards for the sake of shilling more proprietary we don't need. Apple earpods, Google Pixel buds--it's the same thing for a walled garden. I'm not replacing good audio equipment for a subpar experience.

I really hope that the removal of headphone jacks is just a phase.

Let's compare something that was a security risk to removing something that introduced a security risk. I'd much rather stick with my trust in-ears over being FORCED into a bluetooth solution prone to security risks.

No one can provide a compelling reason to ditch the jack, no one. My phone has a higher dust/water proof rating WITH the headphone jack, just as thin, has a better battery life and even embraces wired audio with a more pleasant experience with the quad dac.

Security risks aside, Bluetooth audio sucks, they add more inconveniences than they remove.

Random connection issues.

Having to charge them.

Worse phone battery life.

Not to mention the price to sound quality is inferior.

And what do I gain?  No wires that connect to my phone?  Wires that could easily be tucked under my shirt.

You don't even gain that. That's achievable with phones like the Note 4, iP6, etc. that all have headphone jacks.

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

I'm talking about the purchase of Bluetooth headphones/speakers.

And my point is that removing the jack is pointless because bluetooth stuffs, as well as anything Wifi Direct, NFC, and external USB DAC works with existing products that have jacks.

Agreed, the removal of the headphone jack limits consumer choice, with no benefit to them whatsoever.

Many non techies that I have spoken to have also stated the removal of the headphone jack as a dumb idea.

There's almost no chance that it's going to stay for OP6.

I remember how Google made fun of Apple in Pixel event for not having it, year later they dropped it themselves.
