I've seen how Linus has a motherboard wall in his office. I have decided that I want to do something similar. The only issue is that I don't want to ruin my wall by putting super glue all over it. Any ideas how I could somehow attach the motherboards to the wall without damaging it too much? Also Where would you guys recommend getting old/broken motherboards from seeing as I've only got about 3 spare motherboards?

Thanks

Some kind of back board? Not sure what material would be cost effective though.  And you can look for recycling places, the location we take all of our can's and spare copper has a huge box of defunkt motherboards, I'm sure that would be your best bet.

edit: a backing could become intensive in labor and price. I think you'll need input but mostly trial and error.  Also can't believe they took it down >_<

You could install either some books or standoffs, you would only need two hooks or standoffs per board, realistically and that would be just two small screw sized holes in the wall.

In terms of getting boards, you could post and ad on Craiglist (or a local equivalent) or a more tech centered nearby/local forum and ask people if they have dead boards, if you can have them.

Thrift shops sometimes have some cheap old ones laying around for only a dollar or so per piece.

You can probably get boards from an e-waste/recycling center if they are willing to sell them.

If we're just talking drywall, screws (and washers depending on the screw you're using) would probably be the easiest, quickest, and most cost-effective solution for mounting. You would need 2-3 per motherboard rather than every single standoff hole. If and when you ever need to take them off, just a matter of filling the holes again, sand and re-paint.

As for motherboards, making some classified ads and such asking for defunct hardware/motherboards might get you some results. Going to a local e-recycler would be an easier option if they're willing to do it.
