When will Ethereum mining drop? And after when will GPUs go back to normal price? I'd like to be able to get a gpu at normal price by christmas

Well ethereum is flavor of the moth, it's entirely possible another crypto currency takes up any slack that develops.  part of me wonders if Mining cards will be what eventually smooths the market.

it's not free money, it's simply value assigned via a free market, nothing more.  and regulation probably won't happen or otherwise work.

I believe the IRS in the states has expressed an interest in taxing Crypto currency.

It's already taxed in the US under capital gains tax, just like most other things you can sit on and generate 'free money'. I believe in the US there isn't even a threshold on crypto 'gains' you have to pass before they start taxing you, it's on every transaction in theory.

Please don't spread complete ignorance about economics.   Time and specific work is performed, just because you feel the level of return is so dramatic doesn't make it free money.  Persons who purchase the coins are part of the market and assign value. They use real money to buy crypto coins.  I guess collecting any collector item and selling it later is also free money under your rational.

actually you haven't dismissed my argument at all.  For your physical object argument to work the price of the object would have to both represent only the cost of production and that cost could never change.  Since neither are true disconnects the exchange value from the production value.

 

Name me one thing that has an objective value?

Agreed! I just want regular fairly priced gpus? but I mean there's gotta be a time when it goes down and a point where you gpu prices will be normal

so there is zero way to tell, they say there is no dumb question but this is a dumb question, we cant predict the future.
